AI Disclosure
Our products use artificial intelligence to talk to people. This page says plainly how, because we think anyone talking to one of our systems deserves to know what they are talking to.
You are talking to an AI
When you call a business using our receptionist, or exchange text messages with our system, you are talking to an AI — not a person.
If you ask whether you are speaking to a person, our systems are required to tell you the truth without hedging. That requirement is written into the instructions every one of our AI agents operates under, in every version, and it is not something an individual deployment can switch off.
What the AI can and cannot do
It can: answer questions about the business, offer appointment times it has been given, book, cancel and reschedule appointments, take a message, and send you a link to buy something.
It cannot: negotiate prices, make promises the business hasn't authorized, handle complaints, give medical, legal or financial advice, or resolve emergencies.
Anything on that second list is routed to a human, automatically. That routing happens in our software before the AI is asked what to do, so it does not depend on the AI recognizing the situation correctly.
If you would rather speak to a person at any point, say so. It's a normal request and it will be honored.
What the AI is told never to do
Every AI agent we operate runs under a fixed set of rules it cannot override:
- Never contact anyone who has not opted in, and never message anyone who has opted out.
- Never claim a result, credential, endorsement, discount, deadline, or scarcity that isn't real.
- Never offer an appointment time it wasn't given.
- Identify as an AI when asked, without hedging.
- Never invent a fact about the business.
Where these can be enforced by software rather than instruction, they are. An opt-out is applied by our code before the AI ever sees the message. Appointment times are checked against real availability. Escalation topics are matched before the AI is consulted.
Calls
We store a text transcript. We do not record or store call audio.
Transcripts are kept so the business can review what was said and so we can fix mistakes. They are handled under our Privacy Policy.
Call recording consent laws vary by state, and several require all parties to consent. Businesses using our receptionist are responsible for complying with the law where they operate, including adding a disclosure to their greeting if required.
Automated decision-making
Our systems make limited automated decisions: which appointment slot to offer, whether to escalate a call, and which marketing message to send to which segment.
No automated decision we make has a legal or similarly significant effect on anyone. We do not use AI to decide creditworthiness, employment, insurance, housing, or access to essential services, and we do not build profiles for those purposes.
If a decision one of our systems made about you seems wrong, contact bytemedevstudio@gmail.com and a person will review it.
AI mistakes
AI systems get things wrong. Ours may mishear a name, mis-transcribe a date, or give an answer that is unhelpful.
We build guards against the failures that would matter most — a booking cannot double-book someone else's slot, a low-confidence transcription is re-asked rather than acted on, and a conversation that isn't going anywhere is handed to a human. Those reduce mistakes; they don't eliminate them.
If our system got something wrong for you, tell us at bytemedevstudio@gmail.com. We keep transcripts specifically so that we can look at what happened rather than guess.
Which AI providers we use
Message and call content is processed by third-party AI providers — currently OpenRouter and Groq — in order to generate replies. We do not send them your phone number, name, or payment details alongside that content, and we do not permit them to train models on it.
The specific provider may change. This page will be updated when it does.
